I usually (and have been for some time now) put my laptop in Sleep Mode so that I don't have to hear my laptop running and I can close the screen when I'm done, and immediately get back to it when I need to. But since yesterday, every time I put my laptop in Sleep Mode and try to wake it up, my laptop beeps multiple times madly and loudly and then stops. The screen remains blank/black and and the indicator that lets me know the status/mode of my laptop (i.e: sleep = orange, blue = on) stays in Sleep.

Anyone know if this is a hardware or software issue and how to fix it?? I have a Compaq Presario CQ50-108NR which runs Windows Vista btw.
