I have a HP Compaq 6720 running Windows XP.

The problem is that when I have the Wireless Lan enabled from the Bios, windows takes sometime loading the network, wifi and bluetooth adaptors, device manager (if thats selected). The time is usually around 3 or 4 minutes.

If the Wifi is disabled, its all normal.

    Any ideas?

I have almost the same problem with my nw8440, which also runs XP. It takes a long time loading the network, though I'd say it's no more than 2 minutes. Everything else loads beforehand just fine (except the HP printer stuff, which also takes forever). I really don't know.

I do know before I had my HD re-imaged and before I ran bootvis, it would take almost 5 minutes to load network stuff. Microsoft bootvis eliminated the problem. Just be careful with it, though: I've heard of bootvis screwing up windows, so make sure you have a backup install disk when you run bootvis.

Unfortunately, I can't run bootvis now, since bootvis now thinks I have no physical drives in my system. :(
