    Hi,

My question is, if I install 2 modules of 2GB each (on a WinXP 32bit system), will they both be running with the dual channel advantage?

(I know I can utilize only about ~3GB of RAM, my question is whether or not it will be running dual channel)

    Thank you guys

Yes, provided the system board supports dual-channel memory and 4GBs of ram.......

I have a dv2500t. If I'm not mistaken, it should support dual-channel memory and 4GBs of ram.

    Just making sure:
Assuming this is correct, my system will be able to read only about 3GB of RAM, but still be able to utilize the speed gain and other benefits of the dual-channel memory access... Right?

    Yes and a Yes

Dual channel only adds about 3% performance lol. This is regardless of what OS your using.

Traditional dual-channel is a hardware dependant attribute, not software. And yes, the gain is small (but still a gain nevertheless).....

in order to use dual channel, you just need 2 of the same sticks?

or is there some option you need to enable?

Same size sticks, and the memory controller will run on dual channel and give it more bandwidth.

Also try make them both the same brand just to make sure
