    There are two things going aganist you:

    1. 800MHz FSB is the max for the 965 series chipset.

    2. HP bios wont support the new cpu & since the models being discontinued, there wont be any updates to the bios in the future as well. Plus the 965 chipset might not even be capable of recognising the cpu in which case the system probably wont even boot.

    If you want a higher CPU clock, get the T7800 or X9000. But in my personal opinion it doesn't woth the money. Get more memory and more HDD space and you'll be happy.

    That's exactly what I'm doing. I just purchase a new HDD 160GB and 4GB Ram. But if you can spend the money and it won't hurt your pocket, then go and get it, 'cause if I had 600 bucks to blow away I'd do it. :)
