    I have a dv6000t (See Signature)

    If I plug this baby in the express card slot and into it a Sandisk Extreme IV 300x speed CF reader and card will it run at 400 or 800 speed. the reader has the larger plug.

    If you are plugging into the 9-pin port and the peripheral is Firewire800 capable, that is what it will run at.

    Express cards have a max bandwidth of 2.5 Gbit/s, so the Firewire 800 will run at the full 800 Mbit/s.

    That is the huge benefit over PCMCIA, Express cards are so much faster and for the most part they aren't a bottleneck anymore for expansion cards.
