I am buying a HP notebook but I am concerned that my Dell printer and speakers wont be compatible. Does anyone else use Dell accessories with their HP notebooks? Is there something special I need to do when I get my notebook? I still have the printer disc so I am just thinking I need to reinstall the program for the printer.

I think you could use the printer and speakers on your HP. Just make sure you have updated drivers for the printer that will work with the right version of Windows. Like if you are going to get your HP notebook with Microsoft Windows Vista, make sure your Dell printer has Windows Vista compatible drivers. So do not use Windows XP drivers on Windows Vista. You can get those printer drivers from Dell's website, I believe. As far as your speakers go, they should be fine. Just plug those speakers into that audio input port (and power outlet) like you normally would with your current computer.

Of course they will work, the printer will need the installation cd, but other than that nothing.

Dell accesories are just rebadged items from other makers. Any printer/speaker will work on any system as long as you have the drivers or installation CD. The basic Dell printer I bought last year is a just a rebadged Samsung.

Yep they will work -
Will my dell printer and speakers work on my new HP?
