    Will the dv6500 come in 1440x900?

    1280x800 is just not enough workspace. I might have to get the 17", but I'm scared that will run a lot hotter.

    I doubt that the dv6500 will come in a WXGA+ resolution. The dv6000/5000/4000 all came in WXGA only, so I see no reason for them to suddenly offer a higher resolution on this model. I have been proven wrong before though, so we will see.

    The 17" will actually run cooler, because there is more surface area to dissipate heat. The problem with 17"ers is that they are absolutely massive.

    For programming 1280x800 just doesn't cut it anymore. Although most of the time I will have it hooked up to my lcd @home.

    Yep, unless the 17-incher has a more powerful discrete graphics option stuffed into it (ala Dell 1705). Of course we don't have any such options as yet.....
