    Does anybody know if there will be price reductions in HP laptops in 4th of July weekend of near? Does anyone has historical experience of that? I returned my ZT3000 and can wait couple more days for deals. Besides that, do you think hp may include ATI 9600 option in ZT3000 anytime soon? Thanks.

    PS: My experiences for the last 2 months are that HP makes price reductions in their ZT3000 series every one month, price remains stable during a month.(as of today, HDD upgrades and WUXGA screen upgrade is reduced)

    I don't see HP adding the 9600 to the zt3000 anytime soon, but who knows they've made bigger suprises, like pulling the 9600 from the zx5000 for a month....

    zx5000 :: 2.4M :: 512 DDR :: 40gb 4200 RPM HD :: 15.4" :: Radeon 9600 Mobilty M10 :: Aquamark3 22,856

    Well, I have asked myself the same question, and came up with the following GUESS:

    If they intend to lower their prices and have any kind of sale, coupon or other price reduction, THIS HAS TO BE THE WEEKEND.
    Otherwise, I can't see them doing anything until the fall.
    Why???
    Well, if this is intended to be any kind of Independence Day and/or Back to School sale, it would have to start around July 1st. They can't wait until August 1st for a "Back to School" sale, because a lot of people would be already headed back to school by then, not to mention the standard 7-14 days "lead-time" for an order to be processed and delivered.

    So, as far as I can guess, it has to be JULY 1st!!! (or not until September or October).

    Again, pure speculation only, but it makes sense to me, and I have been waiting for July 1st to place an order.

    And if there are any deals/sales on the 4th, anyone who ordered a Notebook from them in the last 30 days, should be able to get a refund for the difference, correct?

    When I ordered a pre-configured desktop from them, the guy on the phone said, any price-drops in the next 30 days will be honored.

    Has anyone tried this?

    My understanding is, you have to return what you ordered and re-order it at the new price.
    Not 100 percent sure on that, just what I was told.
