Ok i'n getting this HP dv6700t with these specs. But I only want to play older pc games Like Halo, Halo 2, World Of War Craft and Counter Strike S. I'm not going to play high demanding games like Crysis or COd 4 . Just older PC Games like the ones listed above. SO wil this laptop run these games atleast at medium setting?

I'm no expert, but I have similar specs (see below), and my m1330 plays HalfLife2, Team Fortress and Portal without any problems.
I'd figure your computer should be able to handle the games you've listed, if they're older games (again, I'm pretty new to gaming...) -
Halo - Max settings
Halo2 - Medium settings
WoW - Max Settings
CSS: Max settings
Crysis - low settings
COD4 - low/medium settings -
EDIT: @Flipfire, i need to spread it around first - sorry. -
Have you tried any games that have a 4X3 aspect ratio (i.e., not widescreen)? Does the laptop stretch and distort the image or does it display the image correctly with bars on the side?
-
You can configure the scaling and all display settings in the Nvidia Control Panel or even the game itself
-
ok how will the laptop i listed before run these games?
Battlefield 2142
Team Fortress 2
Star Wars: Empire at War
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
Unreal Tournament 2004 -
the games should run fine on pretty much any compute rable to run vista with all its fansy addon junk
if yours can do that, then those games shouldnt be a problem, HOWEVER, know that vista doesnt play nice with xp designed softwares sometimes. -
You can always run in compatibility mode I've heard. Graphics cards have improved over the past few years by alot. The 8400 GS can run Doom at medium settings (I've heard) which was used to punish machines like Crysis is now.
PS. How much of a difference will a 256 make when compared to a 128 mb 8400 GS? -
so those I listed will run at medium settings?
Will this HP dv6700t play older pc games?
