I just ordered my dv1000 from hp online with only 256 RAM. I plan on adding 512 RAM as soon as I get it. I came across this RAM that seems like a good deal, but I don't know if it will work with my new dv1000. I was wondering if someone could check out this link with the specs and tell me if it would work.

I've read on a forum that the dv1000 is limited by design to PC2100 speed but I've also head hp ships it with PC2700 speed. So I'm just confused. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanx

I don't know what memory the DV1000 ships with. It is configured to use PC2100 memory. The faster memory will work, it will just run at the slower speed.

So would it be a waste of money to buy the 2700?

There is no value in getting the faster memory, unless you are planning on getting a notebook that can use it.
