That is desktop RAM...notebook RAM is about half the size of that.

What you need is something that is like this.

EDIT: Whoa...it says it is for a 15.4" notebook...they have a problem with their picture/product line up there. I'd call and confirm before you buy. But if it is notebook ram that should work.

Yea at first glance at that pic I also thought desktop ram. If that is indeed notebook ram, then it is a pretty good price.

Seriously, if that thing is an actually 2GB stick (and not 1GBx2) then PLEASE PLEASE post that in a new thread. That would actually make my day to see.

That was ANOTHER impression I got when I first looked at that page (which of course would have had to be a pricing mistake), but if you read the details, it says:

    Number of Modules 2 x 1GB

    :D

    That page is just tricky.

2gb sticks for notebooks are much more expensive. Until recently they used to hit 600 bucks

Can anyone confirm that an order placed thru the above link can be shipped to a US address?

Didn't see anything on their site about it, only a "link" to the Buy.com US site at the bottom of the page.

    Customs duties?

Anyone in the US placed an order?

It says its a SoDIMM three times on the same page. I'd say its safe to assume its notebook memory.... how many times do they have to say it?

I agree that it very likely is a pricing mistake. Also, whats CDN? I thought the Canadian Dollars were shortened to CAD?

Part number says it's notebook memory...

CDN,? yep that should be CAD... price works out to $141.29 shipped.... (within Canada)

Price mistake? =YES... will they honor the first few orders? Especially if a bunch of people contact them to ask? I'd doubt it.

Anyone here ordered from them in the past with a US based credit card going to a US address?

Guess this deal isn't going to happen:

Thank you for contacting Buy.com. (Canada)

This is in response to your email about International Shipping.

We are currently unable to ship outside Canada. We hope to be able to ship to you in the future.

Please note that Buy.com U.S. and Buy.com Canada are two different Web site having different items and promotions. An item which is available on one of the websites may or may not be available on the other Web site.

Also, for placing an order with Buy.com U.S., both the billing and shipping addresses need to be within U.S. and with Buy.com Canada, the billing and shipping addresses need to be within Canada.

PS: to Krazyboy_8.... Thanks for posting the link.. would have been a pretty decent deal...
Bet it is a pricing, or part number mistake.... Weird though as on one site I was looking at same part number was $171...

EDIT, just found another site at $159 CDN.... says they only ship to Canadian addresses.... Bet they are getting it from the same source as Buy.com -ca ... Everyone else on the same ram is like $280, so I bet both these sources are not going to not fill the orders (pricing mistake)

So if you live in the US and your billing address is in Canada... :(

I have a co-worker who is living here on a temp basis (the corporation I intern for) because he's badly needed on the core team of the project (and everyone else is in one research center in the states). Just an example of that really happening.
