Whenever I try to install Window Update's new driver for my "Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family" video chip, the machine boots up fine, and I think it is functioning normally except that the screen remains black! SOMETIMES I can alt-ctrl-del to get to process manager, which I then cancel and it then behaves normally, but usually not. I have twice now had to revert to the pre-update Windows state to get my display working again. I have the same problem when downloading this new driver directly from Intel, too. The machine has no entries in the error log, and as I say seems to "think" everything is normal.
This is Win7 ultimate 64 bit, BTW.
Anyone else encountered this problem and perhaps have a suggestion (other than the obvious: stick with the old driver)?

    Thanks!
