    Hi,
I have Compaq Presario R4000 128MB graphic memory and 2GB memory. Now I am currently installed XP professional. Will I be able to install Window 7? If so, how could I install the drivers (VGA, network card, sound card and so on)? Should I just use Window XP drivers CD? I haven't tried with Window 7 RC 1 yet.
And for window 7, what's the difference between upgrade version and full version? Or is it the same if I have already window XP? I know only upgrade version is cheaper. Can I get clean installation with upgrade version? What about 32 bits and 64 bits, different CD or will it choose automatically?
    Sorry for many questions.
    Thanks

I don't know the answer to upgrade/full version, but let me share my experience.
I put Win7 RC on my old Compaq Presario V2000 notebook (2 GB RAM) about a week ago after a total HD crash. I had to start with an old XP installation. Didn't even activate it. When the Win7 installed, it stuck the old XP in a folder called "old windows" that is 1.6 GB. The Win7 folder is 8.24 GB.
I now have Win7 RC on an old desktop and an old notebook. So far, this is the best operating system I have ever used. Both are faster than the previous XP Pro they had, and (so far) trouble-free. I have not had any of the driver incompatibilities I had back when I first went to XP (I skipped over Vista). The networking is perfect and painless. Win7 saw my network & both machines smoothly file share instantly. Yesterday at work, on a network where I only share internet connection, I mapped a printer from my notebook to a company networked printer. Slick, smooth & easy.
On my Win7 desktop I installed Office 2000. All the programs run perfectly. On the notebook I installed OpenOffice. Again, all the programs run perfectly. Both are running instant messengers & Skype with no problems. For both these machines, Win7 was a good move.
