    Hello Everyone,

Just want to know that has anyone tried installing Windows 2003 Server on HP Pavilion Dv5 (I have Core2Duo 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM).

I wanted to install Windows 2003 Server on External USB Harddisk so I can boot via it when required. I am further planning to install a running SAP Demo server machine on the same external harddisk (hence the reason for installing Windows 2003 Server) .

Any guides or information in this regard would be extrememly appreciated. What is the trade-off if any and any problems and availability of the drivers and all.

    Thanks in advance for replying.

    Regards,
    Adrenaline-Rush.

XP drivers will work with 2003 Server. As far as i remember there are a few topics around here about XP drivers on DV5 series so i think you'll be alright. In practice i have found 2003 Server to be "a pimped up XP", in fact it is XP's larger and much more expensive brother, just as 2008 Server is for Vista.

The server versions of Windows are better than the desktop ones in just about everything... except pricing of course. :p
