    Hello Everyone,

I am trying to install Windows 2003 Server with dual-booting Windows Vista on Pavilion Dv5 64-Bit Machine.

Please guide me if anyone of the readers has done something similar and what is the success rate for the same.

Is there a collection of drivers which can be used Windows 2003 Server.

    Thanks for help.
    Regards.

Are you planning to install 32bit or 64bit OS? 32bit can use XP drivers but 64bit needs it's own.

Search this forum for instructions how to install XP on these new laptops. Basically same instructions work for 2k3, since it has shared foundation with XP. You just need to have correct drivers.

Yes, 32-bit Server 2003 will work with XP drivers just fine. I'd just stay with 32-bit if we're talking XP/2003, for 64-bit use Vista or Win7, XP 64 was poorly done.

    Thank You for the info,

Well I guess I can try going with the 32-bit version. But I believe I would need 64-bit Windows Server 2003 because I am planning to install a running SAP system on an external USB drive within the server operating system, and the new versions of SAP only run on 64-bit architecture .

Any concrete link of for downloading Windows 2003 Server drivers.

    Regards.

I'm sorry to say that you are on your own. There are chances that things like Bluetooth or the audio device won't be supported on 64-bit 2003 at all. Simply because you don't usually do such things on a server.

Win2k3/x64 Enterprise installs and runs perfectly on a 8510W.

Everything works perfectly. And has done so for months.

Use the HP XP/64 drivers or OEM drivers.

The fingerprint reader is not in use.
Too risky, if the reader goes kaput, there
goes all your encrypted data because it's
keyed to a dead hardware device.

Strip out the HP crapware or stop the service.

The system can dual boot into Vista/32.
That was an experiment to be able to use IE7.

The system is *much* faster and smoother running Win2k3.

    Thanks,

Well will try it with HP Windows XP 64 drivers. As mentioned they should be able to work with Windows 2003 Server.

Any download link for the HP Windows XP 64 driver.

Thanks for the help in advance.

HP support downloads, specify model and OS and a list pops up. It doesn't get any easier than that unless you have a disk with all the drivers on it.
