I installed Windows 8 and i noticed that when i am in the desktop mode, the font on websites is not as crisp and easy to read as it is on Windows 7. Even the display on Windows 8 puts a lot of strain on my eye almost instantly, to the point where it is unusable. It makes me dizzy and nauseous as soon as i look at the screen in Windows 8.
Has anyone experienced this? If so, how did you fix it?
I have an HP DV6 laptop with switchable graphics and i'm using the Intel HD 3000 graphics.

Anyone experiencing this problem? I am using the latest Intel HD 3000 Graphics driver, and it really puts strain on my eyes. Hoping someone here knows what to do to resolve this issue.

I'm pretty sure Windows 7 had that Cleartype text adjustment. Maybe Windows 8 has the same?
-
Errr. Not fixed

I would think Win8 would be easier on the eyes since the Aero transparent window, etc. crap was canned.

The issue still stands, the feel of the display is not as crisp as it was in Windows 7, and reading websites with text hurts the eye. Looking at the screen makes you feel dizzy, and puts a lot of strain on the eye.
I have the latest drivers for the Intel HD 3000 Graphics along with the latest AMD drivers (switchable graphics), and it didnt resolve the problem. -
I have the same issue with win 8. Still searching to see if there's a driver fix before reverting back to W7

Its not a driver issue. New font smoothing in Windows. Actually I like it.
-
Any way to revert back to the font smoothing available in Windows 7?

Use chrome instead of ie. It has the normal font smoothing as in win 7.
