This is one of the mid model Envy 14 with a Radeon HD 5650 and 2.6Ghz Intel i5 M580 with 6Gb of RAM. I'm also still using the stock 7200rpm 500Gb hardrive along with Radiance display. I was wondering how well Windows 8 runs and generally behaves on this laptop especially trying to use gestures on the Synaptic touchpad? I want to make a descision soon as the sale for downloading Windows 8 Pro (the only version I ever want) is ending soon. Does the rest of the hardware such as the Bluetooth, Wifi and hotkeys function correctly as well?

Overall despite the business of the new start screen I read Windows 8 has generally a smaller memory footprint then 7, is this true? Also, if I'm better off asking this in the Envy 14 Owner's Lounge thread I will be more then glad to move it there.
