    Hey all,

Today I booted a new Pavilion DV6544EO and launched the Vista install. However, I had forgotten to plug in the battery (power cord was plugged in of course). During the install I got an "INTERNAL_POWER_FAILURE" bluescreen. I shut down the computer, plugged the battery in and restarted. Now everytime I boot, I get the message "The Computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error, window installation cannot proceed to install windows, click to restart the computer then restart installation."

On the boot screen it says to press F11 for recovery, but it does nothing. The laptop didn't come with a recovery DVD either. Any ideas other than returning the thing?

You can call HP, and for about $20 you can purchase the recovery DVDs.

I think we'll just return it to the store. Thanks for the tip anyway.
