I have an HP Pavilion, dv2500 14 inch laptop with a Nvidia GS8400. Mine was built in Feb 08 and it's model number is not on HPs list of affected laptops that get an extended warranty due to video card failure. Now HP update wants to push 2 Bios updates to me and I would like to just keep my current bios and not have the fan run all the time. the fan stays off until the CPU gets to about 45 C and /or the GPU gets to 57C ( temps from Nvidia utility). Then the fan runs on low until they get down to aproximtely 38 CPU, 52 GPU, then the fan turns off until they creep back up again.
My question is: Does the Winflash routine save my current bios so I can revert back to it in case I don't like the new Bios?
Thanks

You will need to reflash the BIOS to the version you want. You will find the different versions in the HP driver website.
You cannot just rollback when it comes to BIOS's. -
Thanks for the response. My current bios version is F.26. when I go to the HP driver website, I don't see that one in the list of about 5 offered. There is a F.25 at about the same date, so I suspect they had a little trouble with F.25 and came out with F.26. The latest version they list if F.2D

I see, im not sure why F.25 isnt there
F.2D will make your fans always run on the lowest setting, which can be annoying. They did this to prevent defective nvidia GPU's from failing.
