    Hi All,

I have a Compaq Presaro V6305NR notebook, and my wireless card stopped working. I noticed a replacement on ebay for about $20.00, but I really don't want to purchase this card, if its going to fail again within the next 12months.

I noticed the following card from intel, and was wondering if this card would work, if I just used antenna 1/2.

Also I noticed my external slot is a ExpressCard 54/34. Where can I find a good wireless network card, that will fit this slot?

    Thanks.

Unfortunately, your problem probably wont be solved by replacing the wifi card since it might not be just a dead wifi card. The V6000 amongst other laptops from various manufacturers are affected by the Nvidia graphics/chpset defect and failing wireless card is one of the symptoms of the overheating chipset/graphics. HP has issued a recall and they should service it even if it is out of the standard warranty period...

Also, the bios doesnt allow non HP specified wireless cards from being used in the system, so the Intel or none of the other cards will work without hacking through the bios.

Replacing the wireless card wont fix the issue. The motherboard needs to be replaced to fix it. Its a larger problem than just the wireless card.
