    Hi guys,

    Just a quick question.

Does anyone know where the On-board Wireless card is on a Compaq Presario R3363 Laptop?

    Under the keyboard? Underneath?

    Thanks
    Darrone

Underneath the keyboard. If you're thinking about replacing the card, please note that HP has locked out non-HP miniPCI WiFi cards in the BIOS. This is documented in the HP Hardware Guide. I found out about this the hard way.

BTW, Linuxant has released 64-bit wrappers for Broadcom's 64-bit WinXP drivers, so 64-bit Linux users can now do wireless. I haven't had time to play with this yet. Props to jjoyner here for the heads-up.

    On a side note!

I WAS([ :(!]) going to upgrade the card from an 802.11b to a g. Do you know how much an 802.11g card would be from HP/Compaq?

    Thanks

IIRC, about $140. Way more than it's worth. HP has a Parts Guide on its website that you can browse:
