After doing a clean install on my dv5t, I installed the drivers for the Chipset, the Network, and the WLAN. However, I still can't get the Wireless to turn on.

    What am I missing?

Can your notebook detect the WLAN module?

Search for "Device Manger" by using Vista's search engine.
See if your computer detects the wireless module.

If not, try to install the driver again.

If it dectects, then your wireless module might be simply disabled.

    Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100

That would be it right? It's detected in Device Manager.

Is there any yellow warning sign or something like that next to that?
If not, your wireless module is detected by your notebook.

I am sure you know this, but is the wireless quicktouch button blue or orange?

    That's it....

Touch that orange button so that it changes to blue. :)
That button can either enable or disable the wireless and/or bluetooth functions of your notebook.

Hmmm, I don't know how it happened, but I just touched the button again (this time with my left hand) and it finally turned on...I have no idea how that happened...

Anyways, thanks for your time Planet Earth. Sorry for the false alarm.

EDIT: I was touching the button for the past hour or so.

:) Good to hear that you finally got it!

Well.... those buttons are very sensitive... I think they detect electricity from our body. I'm not sure how that works. Anyway, be aware of that.
I sometimes touch the "Quickplay" button. Then, Quickplay opens automatically even if I don't want!

One thing good about those mute and wireless buttons is that you can see whether they are turned on or off. But, be aware that the mute button sometimes turns orange even if you haven't touched it. Don't worry about that if that happens. Turning off your computer can fix that.
