Why my lap top does not detect a wireless connection even if I am in wireless environment!?!?!?!
The light of my wireless card is on all the time!
I tried to configure manually but I don’t have all the specifications and even though people that have Windows Xp can connect automatically.
On my desktop menu bar I have the wireless icon but just with the Bluetooth!
On the network icon it says that "Windows can not find any additional Network" but I do have a wireless enviroment!!!
I also went to the device manager>network adapters, but there are no sign of wireless.

Can somebody help me with that?!?!?

    regards,
    Vinicius Alves

What model Compaq do you have? Also, did this just start happening recently?
When you go to network connections, can you see the wireless card?

HP has had problems with wireless cards and they seem to go bad on a lot of their laptops.
