    I have a DV2000 Laptop

    - AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 Dual Core @ 1.6 Ghz
    - Broadcom Wireless

I am having a problem with wireless network, the signal is very weak even the laptop is next to wireless router.

If I move my laptop 5 meter away from wireless router then my laptop could not detect any wireless network. I have updated wireless driver and update the bios.. no luck!

My Wireless card is: 414376-002 (Broadcom 802.11b/g Mini-PCI Express Card)

There is only one thin cable connected to wireless Mini-PCI Express Card.. is that normal?

have you tried with other devices besides your notebook?

maybe the routers firmware is out of date?

once happened to me with a notebook, one day it just stopped working, i just needed to upgrade the firmware in the router.

Router is fine and updated, other laptop and xbox can access it without problem.

You know WIFI Mini-PCI Express Card, there should be two thin cable connected to it? mine is just one... maybe this is a problem?

There should be 2 cables connected to your wireless card. You can see that one of the antenna connector sockets is empty then?

Yes thats right, I can only see one of the antenna connector sockets is empty. I dont know where other cable have gone.

Is this is why wireless signal is so weak?

It's not helping. I'm not positive on how the radios work. If they use one antenna to transmit and the other to receive then yes, you need that second antenna. I'd remove the wireless card and look for a loose cable under it. Don't forget to unplug the laptop and remove the battery first.

Definately second that, you likely have one disconnected, and luckily, this is something you can look at yourself.
