I upgraded to Vista and am experiencing intermittant wireless. I have to reboot my computer to get reconnected onto the network, because when the connection drops, I cannot even connect to my wireless router. What's even more strange is that the internet/network settings for the wireless card become unresponsive and unpredicatable. For example, hovering my cursor over the network icon in the taskbar gives a blank box, rather than the typical network status that is reported.

There's another computer (HP notebook running XP), an xbox360, and iPhone that are all on the same wireless network and don't experience these problems. It's definitely specific to my computer.

I have a netgear wireless router WGR614. Product link.

Can you guys share which drivers/settings you are running?

I'm running the latest driver from Intel: 11.1.0.100. However, I also tried version 11.1.0.86 (from the HP driver download page) and still experienced the same problems.

    Help?

    needless to say, it sucks.

let me describe it in order:

    1 cant see router
    2 erase router settings
3 can see router in vista
    4 connect to router
    5 router goes haywire
    6 goto 1

You have to put into factor the surrounding area that causes interference. One of the few things I've notice that cuts out my wireless connections completely for a brief period of times are: Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, and Microwave.

This happens very often even when the units are turned off. It still emits some sort of interference. The only way to stop it is to unplug the units. The microwave on happens when its turned on.

Update your drivers also make sure it is not using the same channel as your cordless phone. If it change the channel on your router
