The dv6t I configured last week cost me $850 shipped. The coupon that came out a day or two ago for the HDX16t brought it's price down to $855 shipped. I requested to cancel my dv6t the night the coupon came out. I wake up the next morning...the coupon had expired. I was so pissed because I couldn't get the better deal and my laptop might get cancelled leaving me with no laptop.


The worst happened: my laptop was cancel and my money was being refunded. Great...so I go to check out the coupons and laptop deals of the day when I see the exact same price for the HDX...a new $250 off stackable coupon came out. Luckily, my order was cancelled, so I jumped on it right away. The ship date is pretty far back though...August 24th. As long as it's here that week, I'll be a happy camper. I'm feeling extra lucky right now lmao

 

All I can say is HDX16t FTW!

 

Only reason why I wanted the HDX16t really is because of the higher resolution. I've grown used to having a lot of area on my desktop to fit different windows all sized oddly. The resolution of the dv6t was going to me off and was going to take some getting used to...no more

I wanted the backlit keyboard but I had a budget I couldn't pass. Is there a way to upgrade the keyboard later on with an OEM keyboard or something?

 

Yeah if you weren't able to choose the backlit keyboard via ordering online, you can but it from like sellers on eBay. I remember someone buying a backlit keyboard specifically for the HDX16t from eBay. So just remove your matching keyboard and put on the backlit keyboard.

About $3200 lol. But I used the 30% off coupon and it came to $2300 with 2 year warranty. Only option it doesn't have is the blu-ray burner as I see we won't be burning blurays until years later plus blank blurays costs like $20 a piece.

 

Yours is hella nice. Mine is pretty basic lol, but my first laptop in 4 years so it'll beat out their performance by a lot. My last laptop had a 1.6ghz celeron M -.-

 

Thanks lol. I wanted to go all out cuz I tend to keep my computers for years, so I didn't want it to be outdated 2 years later. My last computer was a Dell Pentium 4 Desktop which lasted me 7 years. Your specs should be fine for the most part.

When's your estimated ship date?

 

Order just dropped to factory a few hours ago. Esimtated ship date is 8/24


I'm a very impatient person, but they better ship it before then because I leave saturday the 29th for college. It would suck if my laptop wouldn't be in my hands by then.

 

Supposed to arrive at my friend's house on the 21st...I then have to wait for him to ship it to me in Canada. Yes I did order my HDX from the US because in Canada there's no possibility of customizing the HDX. HP treats Canada like a 3rd world country

My HDX16 has been in production for 2 days How much longer till it gets shipped? I was told the laptop sometimes arrives before the estimated ship date/delivery date?

 

Mine just went into production a few hours ago. I cannot wait, but I must.

 

There have been many reports across these forums indicating some laptops arrived at their home days before the estimated build date. It could happen, but not always. I just need it by the 28th. Like NEED it.

 

Damn yo I hate the waiting game.

Ordered on the 12th, says build by date is the 24th. Today is the halfway mark to the 24th lol. This thing couldn't come any slower.

I ordered mine on August 10 lol @ like 10 pm. They started to build it on August 13.

I don't know if you want to hear this but today a new coupon just came out for the HDX16t that subtracts $500 plus 1080p resolution free upgrade: NBM5973.

 

I got $450 off. Not too bummed about the extra $50, but I would have loved a free upgrade to backlit keyboard. I couldnt wait this long anyway to order because I need my laptop by the 29th.


EDIT: Oh and I got the free upgrade to 1080p resolution as well.

oh i live in jersey city my thing departed fedex location 3 hours ago from NEWARK. dunno where it's going. NEWARK is 15 minutes away ... oh well...probably tomorrow i'll have it.

 

I dont want to have to wait the weekend to get mine. If it's at a local distribution plant I'm going to try to see if they will let me pick it up in store.

Yep I got mine already. Everything was fine except the letter O on the keyboard. It fell out, but I eventually fixed it. Guess the Chinese weren't 100% accurate. Lol. And the left click is like 1 to 2 mm higher than the right click. rofl.

i guess it is a last part of waiting game... Expected delivery on 27th

 

Ordered the 12th, expected delivery the 25th. Which is a tuesday, but I expect it here monday the 24th, which was my estimated build date.

 

Damn, it's stuck in Linwood, PA for the weekend. I really hope it comes monday and not tuesday.


How is the sub within the hdx? could it be better than my 2.0 speaker setup on my desktop? they have like no bass.

I'm very impressed with FedEx. The package was moving all weekend long and it is now on delivery vehicle already.
That means tonight I will be doing backups and installing XP on it.

Dude this blows. The lid isn't perfect. Where the webcam is, it's not properly closed or something. I don't have time to return it and get another and I think I will be keeping it like this.

 

Fixed it Applied a little pressure and *snap* it got put into place. Now i'm VERY happy with my lappy
