So, im getting a new laptop this Christmas, but i need a little tip.
Im studying a career called: Animation, Digital Design and Multimedia. And i need a new computer for the time im on it.
First i tought of getting an Asus G73 or something like that, but as time passed, i realized i don't need that much power, for example, a lot of my classmates are getting 13 Macbooks Pro (2010) wich i think, aren't that powerfull.
Why? because most 3d software will be used on classes, and homeworks will be done on school.
So, I need a laptop that has good battery life on wich i can watch videos, surf the web or take notes on class. Also a it has to be good for editing videos, audio, recording guitar covers, using Photoshop, Toon Boom, and all of that.
I realized the Envy 14 Beats is a very good option and im planning on getting it with the Battery Slice.
So the main point of this is.
Will this laptop work for that kind of stuff?, How long does the battery last with the Slice upgrade (5hr+ ?)
    Thanks.

It will be fine for all that.

With Slice should last at least 6 hours with i3 or i5.

See the first page of the Owners Lounge for lots of info plus links.

And on the i5 is there that much of a difference between 450m, 460m, 560m and 580m?

Not really. Nothing worth $100 more for. Put it this way, encoding a music file with lowest to highest CPU listed above would incrementally shave off a few seconds.

If that is worth it to you, then by all means.

There isnt much difference, just .X clock speeds. Your not going to see anything dramatic from getting the 580m compared to say..the 560m imo.

So is the 460m the best choice? (i save 100 bucks with that)

You can't go wrong with that choice.

Also, how long do you guys thinks battery lasts with the Slice battery and the i5 watching videos?
