Has anyone had any problems with the HP XB2000 Expansion Base ?

My cable (hooked up as desribed in the setup) ending up becoming frayed because of the way it was set up. So the expansion base is now useless (very frustrated trying to get warranty help from HP !!)

Anyone else having this issue ?

    Thanks !

Frayed! the cable is the thickness of an extension cord and much stiffer..

How long have you had the base?

For me once I pulled out the correct length it stays that way and just sits waiting until the computer is plugged in, there is no strain at all on it.

I can't see how it would fray

I had used it for about two weeks before I noticed that the notebook was running off of my battery. I checked all of my power connections and adapter and they were fine. Then I checked the cable and saw the spot where it was frayed. Even after pulling it out all the way the cable had to bend to fit into the slot on the side of the notebook. It was not a tight fit just the way it was designed. And I hardly ever took it out of the base.

I saw the same exact problem on one on display at Best Buy as well.

Got me beat! my cable rubs on nothing, is only pulled out about 25% but rock solid

Could be a manufacturing fault, or can you see what is causing the rubbing?
