OK, my HP tx1000 has just become my second, rather than my primary computer, and I'm looking to finally use it as a media center PC with the XB 3000 docking station I bought with it.

The XB 3000 has some nice component jacks, so I presume I want to use those. But it doesn't seem to have speaker outputs, just SPDIF and a Headphone jack. I presume I want to get a cable that will go from the headphone jack to the stereo inputs on the TV?

Anyone else who's been through this who can give me any suggestions, or point me to a solution example? I googled, but the first page of entries were mainly folks asking the question without getting any answers...

Just for grins, I tried hooking up a standard RCA cable (just the video input). Doing that, I can see the picture, but I also get a rather strong "hum", and the picture looks a little wavy. Will going to the component output make that any better?

    Thanks!

One more data point... I disconnected the composite cable from my cable box and attached them to the XB300. If I cloned the desktop, then set the input to 1080i, then I could see my desktop on the TV. However, the resulting image was dark, generally bluish (with red highlights where there is red on my desktop), and not at all what I would expect.

My guess is that folks either never use this and so Nvidia's driver has never been tested properly, or there's a fundamental error in my understanding of how this should work. Suggestions?
