    Hello all,

I just received my new dv4-1220-us laptop and would like to install XP on it rather than keeping Vista. HP's website doesn't have XP drivers for this particular model, but when I searched for "Pavillion dv4" there were over 300 returned, so I am hopeful that a comparable model will have XP drivers available. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

Did you ever get Windows XP to install on this notebook? I have one that I am trying to do the same with and have tried loading the SATA driver during the startup of Windows Setup from a floppy disk, only to have the computer blue screen on me. Just trying to figure out what else could be missing......

I did run a complete scan of the hard drive using the built-in CMOS utility and Windows chkdsk /f, both which did not seem to find anything remarkable (so I have pretty much ruled out the hard drive having problems).

Is there another driver that needs to be loaded with Windows XP Setup in order for it to install correctly?

if this system is AMD based, your going to need the RAID drivers as well. you will need to load the south bridge drivers and the raid drivers in order for xp to install.
