    Hi
I just reinstalled windows xp after my 30 day trial of my pirated version of vista ran out. and it has gone smoothly and every driver has installed EXCEPT my audio drivers. every time i try to install my conexant audio drivers for XP for my laptop, it says that the device does not exist in my computer. i have tried to install the audio drivers from other 2000 series notebooks and they all say the same. i only have one ugly question mark defyling my nice and neat device manager and its about to drive me crazy. has anyone else had this problem? and if so can anyone upload the correct driver? i already went to conexant's website and they dont even say they make sound cards. there is nothing even slightly suggesting the make sound cards in their entire site.
    Any help is greatly apprecieated.

Well, you really should refer to the "30 day trial" of Vista as a trial -- mentioning the "p" word isn't a great idea on this board.

To answer your question, though, on XP you have to install the Microsoft UAA driver BEFORE you can install an HD Audio driver. You can grab that from HP's site as well. Once that's installed, your device manager info will update, and you'll be able to install the sound driver you already downloaded.

I am curious though. Have you tried the latest driver from HP? They just posted the Waikiki driver last week.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my DV2000T CTO, and the sound is working. Thanks to the hard work from JadedRaverLA and many others.
