    Hi all,

I was thinking about dual booting with XP on my DV2500t. I have Windows Ultimate 64 bit right now, and I was wondering if any of you had done this already and got increases in battery life?

I have a 12 Cell and get like 4.6 hours I think with my machine currently.

XP runs more efficient because it takes less resources which consumes less power from the battery. Wont be too much of a dramatic increase in battery life..

XP runs efficiently and hogs less RAM. In case you have a dedicated video card, XP runs the desktop with 2D mode speeds. In case of Vista, Aero makes the card run in 3D mode speeds. It ends up sacrificing some part of battery for visual glitter :).

In my dv2000, I disabled all the glitz and glamour in vista and since I did that I got an extra 30 mins from my battery life. With everything off (wifi and sound), running in lowest CPU setting, I can get 3 to 3.5 hrs of battery life in a 6 cell battery.
