    XP pro on a HDX16-1140us (16T)

    I am looking at buying the HDX 16t and it only comes with vista. My company needs it to run XP pro as their programs wont run on vista.

    can this be done on this model?

    Generally, it is hard to downgrade to XP on a computer meant for Vista. For business purposes, I would highly suggest checking out business grade laptop.

    its a small business grade laptop. I wont be running many programs just 3-4 programs I will need to do insurance and thats it. I know dell is still offering XP with their new laptops

    The HDX16 is a consumer laptop, not business grade. Unfortunately, XP support for the consumer line is nearly non-existent anymore (not counting the Mini 1000).......

    Looking at the support site, there appear to be very few drivers for it.

    so I would get better support going to a non consumerr/small business?
    could you recomend an HP laptop with comparable specs as the HDX that would be able to run on XP.

    If you want to know your best options (HP and not), I would highly suggest posting in the "what laptop should I buy" section. If you fill out the FAQ there, people will give you all the information that you need.

    Yes, it can, but you need to slipstream in the sata drivers and hunt for some drivers. I currently have XP and Vista running on the hdx16. HP will not support any problems on the HDX16 while running XP as I understand it. Best to choose another make/model if you'll need support.

    Hi to all, i just have finished install my laptop to can work around some programs on XP, does any one have the finger software for the validity sensor finger print, please help me, its the only thing that i do not have, the sound of the laptop also is funny its like more slow, but im ok with that.

    HP Pavilion HDX16-1140US 16.0-Inch Laptop is better than other brands that have the same price. It has a large and super high quality screen, the keyboard is lovely and smooth, the camera works great and it has a nice sound
