I've got the HP Pavilion dv5z laptop.

Whenever I use the remote control for the Xbox 360, it turns on the laptop!? haha. Anyone else have this problem or might have some ideas on how to keep this from happening?

Erm...put some tape over the IR receiver? either that or disable the IR receiver from the device manager.

Thanks, Jasp. I was hoping there was a way to recalibrate the IR sensor to work off a different frequency or something. I don’t have a remote for the dv5 now but would like to get one – and be able to use both remotes. It would be one thing if the Xbox 360 remote buttons actually did what the button said – instead any button just turns on the dv5. Highly annoying.
