My new zv5220us came with a cd burner. I am wondering if I can swap it for a dvd burner from a 5000 series machine. To that end, anyone have a part number for a dvd burner from a zv5--- unit? Thanks

If you don't mind the bezel not matching and the drive being recessed about 3/8" into your case because of that, you can swap in a standard slimline notebook burner. I swapped in a Toshiba 4x burner w/HP faceplate (for a different series HP as it turns out) from ultradrives.com. Newegg.com carries Panasonic's 4x slot-loading burner (anyone try that yet?). All you need is a #0 Phillips screwdriver to do the swap. Note that the Toshiba drive does not like Ritek brand blanks (everything else I've tried has worked, Toshiba hasn't released new firmware to fix Ritek compatibility yet).

I have a ZD7000 with a CD burner and I would like to swap it with a DVD burner. Any sugggestions for me as to what I could use or if HP offers one?
