So I sent ZAGG an inquiry to see if they are planning on making an InvisibleShield for the dv5.

    YES THEY ARE! :D

They are actually having people send their dv5's in so they can use them as templates for the final product. I'm sending mine in tomorrow, which sucks because I just got the laptop in the mail today. But I can handle living without it for a week and a half since they are paying for everything except the shipping to their facility in Utah. Totally worth $20 for the shipping and insurance considering it's $14.95 for a custom order, $10 for installation and $39.95 for most of the laptop InvisibleShields. Plus they are installing it and working with that stuff is kind of a pain (I put it on my iPhone).

Just wanted to let everyone know. You might be able to get in on this if you contact their customer support. You would have to get your laptop there by Monday of next week (Jan 12th, 2009).

Wow! This is great! The invisible shield on my iPod has held up great so far, maybe I will get it for my DV5t too -- at least just the lid anyway.

Luckily I have gotten pretty good at putting the invisible shield on myself, so I will probably just order it. Word of advice if you want to apply it yourself get some of the extra spray adhesive stuff that comes with it because you will mess up. Its a lot of trial and error before you get it completely right so the extra adhesive will defiantley help.

It just becomes available today Link, after 50% off it comes to $19.97 w/ free shipping.

I hesitated a little because it does not cover the lcd screen. I don't know if it just the way their notebook solution is or it has anything to do with the 2 different display options for dv5.

    From the website:

"The invisibleSHIELD is not compatible with laptop LCD screens and does not cover them."
