Hey I own a Dell 2600, it's indestructable, but time to retire, i ordered a ZD8080 for 2349, it's a killer and prob the best system i have bought, normally i scrimp for the lesser model. What special precations do i need to watch out for with this computer? Mind you it will be earning it's job in Iraq, not sitting on my desk.. I have bought a targus USB Fan that goes under it, a sleave and backpack, and a Hard aluminum case for it. What other things should I watch out for? BTW the only prob I ever had with on my dell was the floppy, and i didn't take that good care of it, it's just a good machine.

I would watch the screen. The shiny coating they use can scratch easy. Besides that......I hope you got electricity, cause these machnes run out of juice in about 2 hours. I'm going to Al Udeid in March...I think they have cable outlets and power..so my Hauppauge USB2 should come in handy...good luck man, I think the computer will hold up. My other HP did great in two tours, Ballad and Al Udied. I think this one will do just as well.

If your taking it to Iraq I'd worry a little about dust, so maybe some air can and a screw driver to open the bottom to clean it. I open up the side with the fans in my notebook every month just to blow it all out, you'd be surprised how much dust gets traped.
