Wondering what kind of battery life others are getting with the ZD8000 ? I am lucky to get 75 minutes and have the power levels set conservatively. I ran the diagnostic tool and it checks out ok. HP Online Support is pretty useless as I told them i really think the battery needs replaced. Any thoughts ?

I was about to get a zd8000 computer I mean its nice but I had the 7000 for only a year and the **** graphics card and other stuff blew out on me so wow, that battery life sucks im getting the gateway 4000 MX7515 now and the graphics card and smaller widescreen is gonna save power, but dude try this, discharge ur battery completely like let it run out until it goes into hybrination and then when its fully dead recharge the battery for like a day because all batteries have memory and if that dont work I'de take it to someone to fix, hopefully u bought insurance on it. n if it was from best buy I suggest not going through geek squad go through 1-888-best buy corpration if u have a like platinum plan. trust me I know, i have had the experience very recently...

That is the normal battery life for the machine. It uses a desktop Pentium 4 processor, its expected to get poor battery life. That sort of chip doesn't belong in notebooks period.

I did try that without any improvement. I might try HP Online Support - when I have the stomach for it - as it will be a painful process - thanks !

lithium ion batterys are not supposed to have memories. its also not good to leave them dead for a long time or completely discharge them, or so I have heard.
