I have a HP ZT3000 Pentium M 1.7 with 512mb PC2700 currently. I want to upgrade to 1024. I was wondering whether getting the 3200 vs the 2700 is supported and would improve performance at all. Also if you have any suggestions for what brand and where to purchase it, that would be great since I have no previous experience upgrading my RAM.

The PC3200 memory should work fine. The Pentium M chipsets have a 400Mhz FSB so you should see a slight improvement. You can probably get any brand of memory, but you may want to checkout www.Crucial.com or www.Kingston.com and see what they have available. Also, it's possible you're gonna have 2 x 256MB modules in your system, therefore you're gonna have to get under the keyboard inorder to remove the 2nd module. I believe it's between 1-3 screws on the underside (should be a little picture of a keyboard near the screws that need to be removed).
