I have a HP ZV5000. I am experiancing a problem on startup. The monitor lights but only displays vertical green lines that some times flash on and off.
I have tried connecting to a desktop monitor and get the same thing on it.
I have also tried it with the hard drive removed and I get the same lines.
I cannot start up in safe mode or get into the bios. I need any suggestions that might help. I have been told that the cmos battery will sometimes cause this type of problem. Any Suggestions?
Where is the cmos battery located?

I have a ZV5000 but it's a Pentuim 4 and I was just wondering do you have any problems with the laptop shutting off by itself?
