Has anyone been able to successfully add an addtional stick of 512 into the ZV6000 without causing boot/stability issues? I would like to order a stick of 512 from Crucial to take my notebook to 1GB of RAM. I recently read that if you try anything other than a 1GB stick the notebook does not boot. If that is the case maybe I need to send the notebook back for a refund? THere should be no reason not to be able to add an addtional stick of RAM.

You need a PC2700 stick from a reliable manufacturer like Crucial or Kingston (NOT KINGMAX!). That's it. PC3200 should work when paired with your existing PC2700 stick since it'll force PC2700 mode. Crucial is my favorite brand. As cheap as memory has become by all means consider a 1GB SODIMM but a 512MB stick should do.

Thanks for the detailed responses. That was the info I was looking for. I will be buying a 512MB stick from Crucial in the next couple of days.
Thanks,

You might have misread a post of mine or I did not make the post clear. [

You can use 512 meg of pc2700 ( 333 mhz ) in each slot without any problems at all. In fact it appears that you can use any combination of pc2700 memory in the ZV6000. The problem people have been having is using the pc3200 memory ( 400 mhz ).
They were putting 2 1 gig sticks of pc3200 memory in the laptop and it would not work well. It would however work with 1 stick of pc3200 memory, but ran at 333 mhz and not 400 mhz.
The AMD64 cpu used in the ZV6000 will only support 333 mhz memory. The pc3200 is 400 mhz. I have read elsewhere that the 'E' revision of the AMD64 cpu will permit the use of pc3200 memory.
