Hi,
I want to know which of the HP or Toshiba 17' widescreen laptop has the best image (for movies, games, tv and windows).
The HP (with the BrightView) has higher number but I never saw it in real. So is it better or not than the Toshiba one ???

The HP with Brightview will probably be overall better. I've seen both LCD's but not together, so I can't be 100% sure. The Toshiba P20/25 series have an LCD with a high-gloss/reflective surface. But it may just be something to protect the LCD, rather than being an "enhanced" LCD. Both units will offer about the same amount of glare because of the reflective surface. The best thing to do, is to goto Bust Buy or any other local shops and see the units for yourself. Only you can be the final judge if it looks good or not.

Well, I would have done this long ago....
But I can't, I live in Canada and this is a US only model (which I can order from futureshop online-only). -
I live in Canada as well. The unit may only be online only from Futureshop, but Best Buy sells some of these units in-store. The ZT3350us which is online only for Futureshop, is available in-store at Best Buy (they're the same store after Best Buy bought out Futureshop). Since Best Buy's are all over Canada, I'd recommend checking to see if they have this exact model. I know they have the ZD7260us on display at Best Buy and these 2 units are almost the same (minor spec differences), but it has the LCD you want. This will give you a good idea if you want to get the ZD7280us with Brightview.

Well, I live in Quebec and we don't have any Best Buy, only Futureshop.
But I already got my answer anyway. Most people say you can't even compare the P-25 and Zd7000 (brightview) screen. The HP is so much better.
Right now I'm between two other models :
1- Still the ZD7280us (who has everything at high price)
2- And then the ZX5280us (who has mostly everything at low price)
But now, my new problem is that I can't find the ZX5280us in Canada... -
Yeah, finding the "US" models in Canada is kind of difficult. It's slowly starting to migrate up here, but only specific models. If you know anybody in the US, you can have the unit shipped there and you can pick it up or they can drop it off (just a suggestion).
I believe going to the ZX5280us, will give you a WXGA screen only, not the WSXGA+ LCD on the ZD7280us, plus I also believe the video card only has 64MB rather than the 128MB on the ZD7280us.
If you were originally looking at the 17" models, I think that's what you really want. What you can do, if you want, is to order the ZD7280us from the HP.ca site and try it out. You have 30 days to return the unit for a full refund. This way, you'd be able to checkout the LCD and the model to see if you like it or not. HP does have the ZX5180us available on their site, but doesn't have the Brightview.
