    what type of floppy drive goes into the optional floppy drive port right above the cd-rom drive?can you give me link to 1?

    iwhat type of floppy drive is capatable with it.......is it a desktop floppy drive....laptop floppy drive....what type is it.....would i have to buy 1 from hp?

    Do you mean what brand?
    The HP website says about the built-in (optional) floppy:
    Built in 3.5" Floppy Drive
    This optional internal floppy drive allows you to transfer and load files utilizing a 3.5" floppy disk.

    I'm sure it is their own OEM drive. If you are looking for different info, please specify.

    No, it's not a desktop floppy drive. You need one specifically for this notebook. You're gonna have to buy and original HP part, and you're also gonna need the interface cable. Different drives has different interfaces and therefore you just can't pop in any drive. Give HP a call and ask what the P/N is for this floppy drive & the cost.
