    Hi folks,

I checked prices of both Zv5000z & R3000z models on hp shopping website and found that on exactly similar specs. there is a price difference of 200 bucks. Only difference I could see was comparatively high quality stereo speakers set built in Zv5000z and design of casings. Considering the fact that both models now belong to same manufacturer, is this difference worth 200$?

Well, since you're right it is the same company and we know it to be essentially the same notebook the bona fide answer to is it worth $200, is "no"! Make sure the warranty and support is all the same, and if so go with the R3000 and buy a sweet set of speakers for the R3000 with the cash you save!

No it is not worth $200.00 difference. I got the R3000T by Compaq. When I go online for support, I go to hp.com. Save your money and spend it on the best battery and video board for your laptop.

abaxter, thanks for your bona fide reply. Can anybody refer any reliable US vendor who ships hp notebooks internationally, in middle east region. I checked hpshopping site and I think they don't, as their shipping section doesn't address international shipping. Any suggestions?

    Rolotamasi,

I think you may be able to purchase from the HPShopping.com website for your specific country. If you goto HP.com & then select the country from the upper right corner of their homepage, you can select a different country, see if yours is listed. Then click on the Shopping section and see if it works.

yes, they have area specific website www.hp.com/me, and have notebooks in display as well but non of these is with AMD processor which I am looking for. Thats why I thaught that may be these AMD notebooks are US specific and any US retailer may offer international delivery.

I don't think the models are US specific, there are some models (eg. Compaq Presario R3070US) which originally came out in the US, but in time are now also available in Canada. I think it'll just take a bit of time before you will see them in the Middle East. But if you do get the unit in the US, service should be available in the Middle East since it's listed on their website.

I think so too, but currently they don't have these and only offer what is available on shelf with them. They can't even arrange any specific model (not available with them) from any other part of the world. surprising and disappointing... But as you said, vanombite, they may have these in near future. Thanks anyways for your advise.
