I recently bought the Zv5226EA , as I'm guessing is the european version of the zv5000
    here are it's specs:
    Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz
    Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology
    533MHz bus speed, Level 2 cache 512KB
    15" XGA
    40GB 4200 rpm
    256MB DDR 333MHz
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 64MB shared video memo

I don't know much about Laptops, but I was wondering -
Is there a way to upgrade this laptop's video card to the Radeon 9700 perhaps, or anything better than the current one?

    thanks

For laptops with shared video (and even some laptops with dedicated/discrete video), the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard, making it impossible to upgrade, without replacing the entire board. Even to do that, you'd have to make sure that a MoBo was available that would fit into your laptop. With the amount of time, effort, and expense it would take, it seems it would not come close to being worth the effort. If you've bought it in the last 30 days, it could be returned (if HP Europe's policy is similar to US), and a new one ordered.
If it has been more than 30 days, it would probably be less hassle to sell it on eBay (or elsewhere), and buy a new one, rather than going through the above process to upgrade the current one.

    Cheers,
