    Zx5000 DVDRW Question

    is there anyway to get the drive to read a DVD-R Disc the drive in the 5280 is only a DVD+RW Drive and i have important stuff i need to get off the DVD. Heres the drives Model # HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N

    your drive sould be able to read pretty much all media, including the DVD-R. DVD+RW just means that it can only write to + media, doesn't mean it can't read from - media. There may be a possibiliy the drive is not compatible with - media (read), but I haven't seen many that won't read different media. Just make sure the - media has been closed off. If it's still open (multisession) it's not going to read.

    if you have access to a DVD-R drive, then yes.. otherwise.. no
