hey guys i need some help here.
a few programs are screwed up.
one is windows media player. i cant sync anything to my mp3 player even though its detected. i cant see my playlists when i click on the name on the left side of the library tab.
the other is firefox. when i launch it a messege comes up saying that a security component could not be initialized. i have no idea what this means.
system restore will not work as all the restore points are set after the problems have occured. i have a windows anytime upgrade disc if that means anything. my OS is vista home premium.
any help at all would b greatle appreciated.![]()

First of all try to uninstall your MP3 device and uninstall the Firefox. Then make a restart and install both again. Good luck!
-
that did not work.
-
try this for the fire fox http://kb.mozillazine.org/SSL_is_disabled
-
both options are checked according to that j-dogg.
-
can you write down the full error message
is this the message?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Could_not_initialize_the_browser_security_component
if so try that. i think i had that once the last option make a new profile worked i believe thats why reinstalling didnt work your profiles are saved. -
thats the right one. the new profile i create is automatically deleted. i just tried to get rid of my old profile but i cant even do that.
-
ok so we know what we have to do now. we can try three things
1. leave Firefox installed go to c:/programfiles/moxillafirefox. then go to defaults then profiles and delete everything in that folder then open Firefox if that doesn't work
2. completely uninstall Firefox then go to c:/programfiles and delete the whole Mozilla Firefox folder.
3. if that doesn't work try uninstalling it and using a registry cleaner such as ccleaner from here http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
run that it will get ride of Firefox from the registry then reinstall and hopefully that will work. -
Or try Opera and Safari. Firefox has been having troubles lately.
-
-
thanks guys ill try opera for a while. in the meantime what about windows media player?
-
i just tried to open WMP and it wont open! whats the deal?!?!?

-
