All this is new to me:

I got a message from HP Health Check that the HP Recovery Drive on my computer had more free space than is needed to peform recovery operations. Great!

So I used HP Automated Repair. I new have a new drive. It's empty and has 1.06 GB of free space. Yippe!

So how useful is this extra drive? Should I keep it or is there a way to delete it so my main C drive gets the extra GB?

Thanks for any insights you can provide.

Use Windows Disc Management to merge the two partitions together.

There are a lot of programs out there that will allow you to resize partitions. One of them is Partition Magic. I've used it a lot and its never given me any problems. With this program you would be able to add the extra GB of space to your C: Partition.
