    ac adaptor thingy broke off

    alright i have a compaq and the ac adaptor thing broke. Is it possible to solder the wires into the socket?

    did the jack on the motherboard break or the one on the AC adaptor?

    If it's the one one the mobo, yes, I did it to my old Toshiba just cut the jack off the ac adaptor, soldered the wires to the mobo and put some epoxy in the hole to take the stress off...It worked like a charm for me. BTW, Toshiba wanted $650.00 for the mobo.

    My cost, 2.99 for the epoxy
