    I have never have had so stupid problem...
    I normally setup 10mins to power off screen when inactive, but mine nx9420 dont switch monitor off... Ubuntu do this...
    I have torrent utorrent and wireless net active, other programs are totaly standard...
    Any help..

    It must be something with Ubuntu and power saver options in nx9420. Bios update perhaps?

    Are you using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard or a mouse ? There is a known issue (and a windows update to fix it) with MS mouse and XP screensaver/ monitor standby.

    or alternatively you can use winbubble and turn it off manually
